Choosing the Right Rotisserie

Author: Theodore Category: Home Appliances

The popularity of rotisserie restaurants in recent years has been amazing.  They are all over the world now, offering up scrumptious feasts to anyone who feels the hunger pains.  Although there are many restaurants that serve up rotisserie style meals, the truth of the matter is that recent economic trouble has served up a dish of trouble for these places.  Many people simply don’t have the money to eat out at restaurants so often, and are instead choosing to cook food at home themselves.

But just because you can’t afford to go out to eat, doesn’t mean that you have to do without your favorite meals.  In fact, it is very easy to duplicate rotisserie-style cooking at home.  All you need is a little appliance that sits on your countertop and does the exact same thing as the ones the pros use.  Although there are a few choices on the market these days, the most famous is the Farberware rotisserie.  Farberware is a well known leader in the appliance sector, and produced these rotisserie ovens for decades.  Unfortunately, they aren’t produced like old ones anymore.  You can however get your hands on one that is a rotisserie attachment to a convection oven.  Farberware makes a good convection oven, and it comes with a rotisserie stick that fits right in.  In my opinion, this is an even better choice, since you can do so much more with the unit than just turn chicken and other things.

Although Farberware became famous for its open air style of rotisseries, most of the units sold today are actually enclosed units.  Manufacturers have figured out that it takes a lot more electricity to heat up an open style unit than one that is fully enclosed.  The reason is that the hot air isn’t constantly escaping.  If you just want a rotisserie by itself, these self-contained units are a great choice.   Take a look at the Everything Kitchens website for other Farberware and kitchen resources.
