Picking Out a New Range Hood That Looks Good For Years

by Theodore on February 22, 2010

When picking out a new range hood, you are going to want to take several factors into account. You also want a hood which will look amazing for as long as you own your home. Buying the right one from the get go and you will never regret it. Though the same can be said for many things in the home, your kitchen is one of the best places to add value to your home so don’t miss the opportunity to make a little thing pay off big.

Things to Think of Before You Begin

Personally, I prefer stainless, because it is super easy to clean and goes with all stainless appliances. Find a range hood that matches your whole kitchen, not just your stove, but it is a bare minimum that it should match your stove. Get yourself something affordable that looks great, you can look at Home Depot or Lowes, and consider updating your appliances at the same time. Do not go with some odd color like red, this will devalue the kitchen and make it really tough for a future buyer to come through and repaint anything, and this will be reflected in the price of your home should you decide to resell, so don’t go there.

After You Have Installed the Range Hood

Keep it nice and clean, first of all. Paint the kitchen to look nice around it, make it appealing to the average eye, not just something wild and weird. You want it to look nice, so make the surroundings match, and make sure it looks good with the counters and cabinetry. This will become a center piece to the whole kitchen, if you are in there, it is likely what you are looking at so it is vital that it fits well into your chosen scheme for the kitchen.
